Hi, I’m Jennifer
But you can call me Jen.
When I feel overwhelmed or stressed, I plop on the couch with a cozy blanket and turn on the movie Ratatouille. One may think being a yoga instructor, Reiki Master, and meditation guru, I would start burning incense, play soft music, and get into a child's pose. Nope, it is Remi the Rat’s hope of becoming a famous chef that brings me all the warm fuzzies and comfort.

My Story
How did this holistic tale begin? Meditation, yoga, and Reiki have continually shown up throughout my life and when things keep “appearing,” I investigate! One pivotal moment in my journey was seeing Reiki offered at Duke Integrative Medicine while my mom was battling breast cancer. Even then, I pushed it aside as something “whoo whoo.” However, the human mind, body and spirit have always fascinated me, and I set out to find answers by completing Reiki Training. Several times; I was skeptical. Hope had me continue working with Reiki.
Some time after, our family moved to the country; and I was looking for a yoga studio nearby. I decided to open my own space because the closest studio was quite a drive away. Getting caught up in the day-to-day of being a wife and mom, working full time and running a side-hustle yoga studio, Reiki went to the back burner. With stress at an all-time high, my world came to an abrupt halt with a brain tumor diagnosis. It was in my own illness that I worked with Reiki with more intention. Western and Eastern medicine interwoven for my healing. This was when I realized I had to share this gift with people.
Simplify! Something had to change fast; so I took a leap of faith!
I left my twenty year career as a public-school teacher and focused on the my health and the studio. I boldly placed “Reiki Master” on my business cards, with a tinge of fear. Ok, not a tinge, but full-on fear of what people would think. In that fearful but fearless action, one of my many purposes showed up.
Over the years, I have seen the dynamics of stress on children and families change dramatically. I spent several years as a ministry director knowing and sharing the importance of connecting to the Divine. Through both careers, I offered comfort and ease when sharing the importance of finding balance to overcome the stress and challenges in today’s world.
It’s one’s story that can offer hope, healing, and connection to others.
Now, I bridge God’s healing, my love for teaching, and a story of hope into one beautiful purpose. A wholeness faith, so to speak. I am on a double mission, to guide and heal others; all the while, guiding and healing myself.
It all starts with being still and taking a breath.
